Joe
  Jen
Ware, MA, Nov. 7, 1974
Raised in West Brookfield, MA
Born & Raised
Rockland, ME, Aug. 22, 1974
Raised in Spruce Head, ME
Yes – he had his sports (graduated as Athlete of the Year), liked the schoolwork OK, and he was popular
Liked School?
No, she was bored with the curriculum and was unpopular due to her extreme hideousness as she was led to believe
Valedictorian out of about 70
Class Rank
Salutatorian (loser) out of about 70
Lower than Jen’s
SAT Score
Higher than Joe's – but both scores were somewhat sad, so we’re not going to say what they were here
Didn’t choose engineering until late high school. Before that, he was thinking about maybe teaching
Past Career Aspirations
Deciding between fashion design and astronomy, and was serious about both – even just before the college applications went out
RPI, Troy, NY
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Took 5 years to complete (because he did a co-op program, not because he had to stay back)
College
Haverford College, Haverford, PA
Major: Double major Physics and Astronomy
Started grad school at U of Michigan for astronomy – left after one semester because she finally realized that astronomy (as a career) was really boring
Engineering Quality Assurance Manager, which is somewhat related to his college major
Career
Web Development/Design Manager, which is in no way related to her college major

George Clooney
Would trade faces with...
Angelina Jolie
Rodney Harrison (SS, 37 – the harder he hits someone, the more excited Joe gets)
Favorite Patriot
Corey “Stiff-Arm” Dillon (RB, 28 – he’s just awesome)
The only food he doesn’t like is olives for reasons unknown (although he couldn’t live without olive oil). Likes trendy restaurants with what Jen considers  “weird” food combos. He is an excellent cook, and loves to grill outside.
Favorite Foods
Good cheese, candy (especially jellybeans and good salt water taffy), scrambled eggs, pasta, rice, Joe’s hamburgers. Other than that, the menu becomes somewhat limited. Veggies are something better left alone.
Likes to power up straightaways at the speed of light due to his massive muscular Veritek (Sox catcher) thights. Then takes pics while he waits at the top for Jen to catch up
Hiking Style
Hates the straightaways because Joe goes too fast; likes rock scrambling and that’s where she takes the lead since she’s lighter and more flexible. Would like to learn real rock climbing.

When I retire...
Do something with fabric
  • Was only in one school yard fight where he split a kid’s lip open – but it was for a noble cause
  • Elimination of crab grass on our lawn is his next quest
  • Maybe he can sing or dance, but this is unknown because he won’t do either
  • Always parks in the same section of the mall parking lot, even if the store we want is at the other side of the mall
  • "Brown Eyed Girl" plays on Joe's cell phone when Jen calls him
Other tidbits
  • Worse eyesight than Mr. Magoo
  • Cannot do arithmetic (although vector calculus was no problem). Always the last one left adding up their Yahtzee scores
  • The one that owns more tools
  • Loves gift-wrapping
  • Has not yet lost the habit of twirling her hair constantly
  • There is no sense writing down any of the cute stories from when she was a kid, because my family tends to take care of that during any family gathering
Our shows that we never miss:
24, Prison Break, House, Idol, Monk, and Patriots games
A movie that we both had in common on our "favorite movies" list on eHarmony:
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Our regular restaurants:
Bertuccis, that Thai restaurant in the plaza in Andover, Joseph's, Pedro Diego's
